Synopsis:

In trouble with the law and with dangerous outlaws, a couple, Lana and Thomas, head for the hills and end up squatting in an
empty rural house. But, when the home owner gets back, they’re out of the frying pan and into the flames.

Information:

Kindling is an independent psychological thriller film leaning into the “elevated horror” style that is prevalent on the festival circuit in recent years. A slower-paced, atmospheric and tense film with complex characters but a straightforward narrative set, for the most part, in a single location. The film will be shot over approximately a month, with the majority of the production taking place over a sixteen day period in which cast and crew will be staying on location in rural
Victoria. The production will make use of a total cast and crew of ten people over that sixteen day period, with only a few extra cast members for the few scenes that take place elsewhere. Minimal but experienced cast and crew, along with a well-appointed major location and a storyline not dependent on expensive practical or digital effects keeps the costs
particularly low, making the completion and quality of the film not just viable, but a near certainty.
